The combo pairs any free smartphone with our 8-inch Android tablet. The tablet works on Wi-Fi anywhere and on mobile data through your phone's hotspot.
We want to be clear: Lifeline supports one service per household, and it does not pay for tablets. Since the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended in 2024, no federal program gives away free tablets. Our tablet is offered at a discounted one-time co-pay, and occasionally free during promotions in select states. The co-pay is always shown before you finish your order.

Anyone who qualifies for Lifeline can choose the combo. That includes households on SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance or the Veterans Pension, and households with income at or below 135% of the poverty guidelines ($36,882 for a family of three in 2026).
Complete the online application and choose your free phone.
In the device step, choose "Add a tablet". The co-pay is shown before you submit.
Once approved, your phone and tablet ship together.
Plenty. At home, connect the tablet to Wi-Fi. On the go, turn on hotspot on your Lifeline phone and the tablet uses the phone's data. Video uses data quickly, so download shows or lessons on Wi-Fi when you can, and keep an eye on your monthly data. You can add more data at any time.
Not through Lifeline. The ACP used to help with tablets but ended in 2024. Our tablet is a discounted add-on for Lifeline customers.
Lifeline covers one line, so the tablet uses Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot. A separate tablet data plan may be available for purchase.
