How do I get a Free Government Smartphone?
Qualify through SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, public housing, a Veterans Pension or income at or below 135%% of the poverty guidelines, then apply online. Choose your smartphone in the phone step. If you already have Lifeline with another company, you can switch and get a new smartphone.
Android or iPhone: which free smartphone should I choose?
Choose Android if you want a phone that is free everywhere, a larger battery and expandable storage. Choose an iPhone if you already use Apple devices, want FaceTime and iMessage, or prefer Apple's long update support, and you are comfortable with a possible one-time co-pay.
